Εθελοντισμός My Animal Reiki Story - from RSPCA volunteer to Accredited Professional Το 2020 ήταν η χρονιά που άρχισα να είμαι εθελοντής με το RSPCA! Είμαι παθιασμένος με την καλή διαβίωση των ζώων (και ένα μεγάλο μαλλί) και έτσι αποφάσισα να αναθρέψω μια γάτα που χρειάζεται ένα ασφαλές, στοργικό σπίτι! Λίγο αφότου ο Tiggs (φωτογραφία μαζί μου στα δεξιά) ήρθε στο σπίτι μαζί μου, άρχισα να παρατηρώ μια αξιοσημείωτη αλλαγή στη συμπεριφορά του όταν του έδωσα Ρέικι! Θα γινόταν σωματικά χαλαρός ξαπλωμένος και θα είχε μια πολύ χαρούμενη εμφάνιση - θα ακουγόταν επίσης γουργούρισμα και κάποιο γατάκι που κυλιόταν στο πάτωμα! Όχι μόνο αυτό, αλλά και η συνολική συναισθηματική κατάσταση και τα επίπεδα ευεξίας του Tiggs άρχισαν να αλλάζουν επίσης. Από ένα πολύ στρεσαρισμένο, υπεραγρυπνό αγόρι (που θα πηδούσε με τον παραμικρό θόρυβο και θα στριμώχτηκε αν χτυπούσε κατά λάθος κάτι ή με έπιανε με ένα νύχι στο παιχνίδι) σε μια ξεκούραστη κομψή σαύρα, που απλώνεται στο αγαπημένο του καλοριφέρ ή περβάζι παραθύρου! Μην με παρεξηγείτε - ο Tiggs εξακολουθεί να αγχώνεται κατά καιρούς, αλλά η γενική του συμπεριφορά και η συναισθηματική του ανθεκτικότητα έχουν βελτιωθεί τόσο πολύ - είναι σαν ένα διαφορετικό αγόρι! Οπότε φυσικά πρόσφερα στο RSPCA τις υπηρεσίες μου ως εθελοντής, για να μπω και να δώσω Ρέικι σε μερικούς ακόμη κατοίκους του RSPCA! Είχε βοηθήσει τόσο πολύ τα Tigg μου και ήθελα να βοηθήσω όσο περισσότερα ζώα που είχαν ανάγκη όσο μπορούσα. Γρήγορα προς τα εμπρός στο σήμερα: Είμαι τώρα πιστοποιημένος θεραπευτής Ρέικι ζώων και εξακολουθώ να είμαι εθελοντής στο RSPCA κάθε εβδομάδα (έχω ακόμη και το δικό μου ντουλάπι εκεί τώρα!). Ο χρόνος μου εκεί με διδάσκει τόσα πολλά, μου επιτρέπει να συνδεθώ και να βοηθήσω να ενδυναμώσω και να θεραπεύω όμορφες, ευγενικές ψυχές που έχουν συχνά υποστεί τραύματα, κακοποίηση και σωματικά προβλήματα. Μπορεί να είναι σπάει την καρδιά μερικές φορές, αλλά η εκπληκτική τους ανθεκτικότητα και η ικανότητά τους να εμπιστεύονται ξανά είναι τόσο ισχυρές - είναι οι ήρωές μου! Τους αγαπώ όλους και θέλω να τους βοηθήσω όσο μπορώ. The accreditation requirements were reassuringly rigorous, and involved an application form, competency questions, submission of case studies and sending in in certification and Animal Reiki professional Insurance for verification and validation. As one of their certified Animal Reiki Practitioners, Ema Melanaphy appears on the UK Reiki Federation's Searchable directory for Animal Reiki Practitioners, which you can access here . This certificate was awarded to Ema after completion of the first year of a 3-year Shiatsu Diploma course (which took 2 years, due to the pandemic preventing normal teaching and practice treatments during the lockdowns and Social restriction rules.
