I am a qualified, insured and UK Reiki Federation-accredited Animal Reiki Professional Practitioner, with professional experience of offering Reiki to: cats, dogs, horses and ferrets. I'm always open and happy to offer Reiki to members of other species; I will always research and read up on species-typical behaviours body language, physiology etc before a session, and of course I take a detailed picture of the individual animal recipient, through my new client questionnaires. This ensures that your companion receives the best possible experience of their Reiki treatment and interacting with me, and that I'm able to evaluate and understand what happens during the session, appropriately. These are all things I would be mindful of with human clients, but of course most non-human individuals aren't able to communicate using language in the way that I'd typically do with humans. Animal Reiki uses different techniques and skills, to understand what the animal's wishes and needs are for their treatment. Sessions last between 20 minutes up to 1 hour, depending upon the animal recipient's wishes, at the time of treatment - I always respect the choice of the animal recipient as to whether or not they wish to receive Reiki. Some of the benefits Reiki can bring to animals include: relaxation, a deep sense of calm and wellbeing, the release of any issues and/or traumas, as well as healing on all levels. I have found that after only 1 or 2 treatments, some animals with a long history of trauma or difficult backgrounds can start to turn the corner towards trust (in themselves and their humans). Habitual behaviours can subside, as the animal becomes more present and mindful, and less locked into reactive cycles of behaviour. As our animals are so in tune with their humans' wellbeing, it may benefit your companion animal for you to receive some Reiki as well - if this is the case, I will offer this as part of the overall therapy time, or as a combined package at a reduced overall amount. *Reiki is never a substitute for medical treatment - animals' behavioural issues can be caused by other conditions. Veterinary advice should be sought before starting a course of animal Reiki  therapy if there is an underlying medical issue.*

Originating in Japan, Shiatsu means "Finger pressure". This modality is an adaptation of Zen Shiatsu, and is done over clothing, with the client lying on a futon mat on the floor, or on a treatment table . People often find this treatment relaxing, rejuvenating, and grounding. It can help ease tight muscles and multiple treatments can help ease aching joints and promote greater mobility in some cases. I use direct pressure, gentle stretches and rotations, working energy points and Meridian channels, to promote a healthy balanced energetic flow in my clients. This is not a "one-size-fits-all" treatment - it is adapted to the individual requirements of each individual, and further adapted to their dynamic energetic patterns at the time of each treatment. What happens in a Natural Lift Facial Massage? The treatment begins with some long, slow, deep breaths - this is a way for you to mindfully come into presence, centre, and "arrive" fully on the treatment bed. I connect energetically and intentionally with you, and align with your energy. Then, I perform some leg stretches, to ease any stiffness, and open your Bladder Meridian (which runs down the entire spine, and therefore connects with all the systems, organs and channels in the body), gently giving your spine a little extra breathing room, and grounding your energy. The I move into the massage part of the treatment, which begins by creating a Reiki ball above your face, and then bathing your entire face in the beautiful, relaxing, healing Reiki energy, with my hands a couple of inches over your face. For this treatment I use a natural, unscented grapeseed oil, which is the safest, most easily tolerated oil - (it's for this reason I use it in my pregnancy massage as well). I then start the physical part of the massage, which, in addition to the face, includes the neck, upper chest, shoulders and upper arms down to the elbows. After the massage and acupressure, I move into the facial uplift or "facelift" part of the treatment. This involves deft, delicate, mindful movements, moving in straight lines across the entirety of your face. For many people, this is so relaxing and meditative a process that, if they haven't yet drifted off to sleep, they often will do at this point. In fact it can feel like an effort not to snooze for this part of the treatment, so why not surrender and benefit from a deeply restorative sleep, and let me take care of lifting, smoothing and toning your facial muscles - showing them where they're meant to be! I'll then use a gentle manual lymphatic drainage technique to pump away any toxins already present, and to clear space for facial toxins released during the treatment, to drain away from the face. Finally, I'll sweep your body energetically, to clear away any stagnant, stale energy or blocks you may have released into your energy field during the treatment. I then perform another round of leg stretches, and ground your energy. Finally, I'll gently let you know that the treatment is completed, and give you a few minutes to come round fully, whilst I get you a drink of water.
