Dealing with difficult emotions
This meditation is for people who are struggling with difficult emotions, to use in the heat of the moment. This might be after being triggered, having a painful or angering experience or interchange, or an ill-judged remark - or an anxiety or panic attack.
This meditation is intended to help you step out of emotional hijack, to retake control in the heat of the moment; to regain your equilibrium and clarity by moving from the emotional and mental level, back into a more embodied level of experience - your felt sense, which can release emotions as we allow ourselves to experience them, fully. This is the first step towards wisely stepping back towards a state of Wellbeing.
By stepping away from the narrative of the event itself, you can move outside the cycle of blame assignation and judgement, and take a sacred pause. Breathe into your physical experience of the emotions within, to release them more quickly, and step away from reactivity into wise self-awareness and higher-level decision making.
